摘要: Abstract Organohalogen contaminants bioaccumulate to high concentrations in tissues of polar bears ( Ursus maritimus ). The exposure levels are the order be toxic inner organs like liver and kidney. We therefore investigated temporal development lesions (n = 115) kidney (n = 122) samples from East Greenland taken over 12 year period 1999 2010. Seven seven were observed which six age-related. Controlling for this, analyses showed that hepatic steatosis renal cell infiltrations, glomerular sclerosis tubular hyperplasia decreased time (all p trans -nonachlor being positively associated with (p = 0.06) while dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes negatively (p = 0.02). These results suggest specific have or increased long-range transported organohalogen mercury may among co-factors responsible these observations. relationships important take into account when biomonitoring health pollution wildlife species such as bears.
