摘要: During lymphocyte activation, changes in cell morphology are commonly observed. This reflects functions important for the regulation of immune responses such as adhesion or migration. Notably, IL-4 has been shown to induce and locomotion B cells, we have recently described that causes dramatic morphology. Thus, cells spread with dendritic protrusions produce microvilli-like structures. The molecular mechanisms by which induces these complex currently unknown. Two signal transduction pathways well IL-4, i.e. one involving insulin receptor substrate (IRS)-2 a Janus kinase (JAK)/ transducer activator transcription (STAT) pathway mediated STAT6. In this study therefore used from STAT6-deficient mice address question possible STAT6 dependence IL-4-induced changes. By light electron microscopy, spreading polarization were found be severely impaired microvilli formation was reduced. contrast, only mild impairment observed mice. Our results show can induced absence However, expression is necessary optimal both induction. also essential allow an IL-4-dependent response. A interpretation our STAT6-dependent specific gene genes required affect
