摘要: This paper presents a review of previous work conducted as regards to the machining miniature gears by spark erosion (SEM) process and its variants. Miniature are key components various small devices. Their proper function requires selection an appropriate manufacturing and/or finishing that will deliver required fit for purpose quality. Spark-erosion-based processes have proven track record impart relevant quality characteristics minimize number operations required. commences with introduction before outlining gears. Details efforts on these SEM-based presented selected future research trends, directions avenues possible offered. focuses exclusively SEM even though it is noted similar macrogears also limited. aims facilitate overall view all available literature in single article, promote technology provide road map researchers making towards exploring technologies further.
