摘要: Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) has been shown to participate in modulation of circadian rhythm and stimulate melatonin (MT) secretion both the rat chicken pineal glands. In contrast mammals, main regulator birds is gland, which begins its rhythmic MT production already during embryonic life. present study, we investigated development explanted pineals their responsiveness PACAP a perifusion system. Our results show that: (1) clock and/or intracellular signal transduction system connecting synthesizing apparatus develop between days 16-18 (E16-18), even vitro. (2) Exposure gland induces transitory increase but does not induce visible phase shift rhythm. (3) Cyclic AMP (cAMP) efflux also responds at or before day E13
