摘要: We have previously described (Anderson et al. , 1966) a method of measuring the mineralisation third metacarpal using an X-ray densitometric method. now estimated accuracy this by relating bone ash and calcium content to ‘in vivo' measurements. The reproducibility has also been investigated making duplicate measurements on 36 normal subjects. It was found that standardised aluminium equivalent (S.A.E.) correlated well with whole density (r=0·88) total cortical mineral (T.C.M.) less per cm. (r=0·78). linear attenuation coefficient (λ) correlate ml (r=0·63). most reproducible measurement S.A.E. (mean percentage difference 5 cent) least λ 7·7 cent).
