摘要: Cytochrome-c release from the intermembrane space of mitochondria to cytoplasm is a critical signaling event during many forms apoptotic cell death. Due widespread involvement apoptosis in pathobiology, this mitochondrial logical target for development new therapeutic approaches numerous diseases. Currently impeding such our lack understanding mechanism by which component electron transport chain occurs response wide variety agents known induce apoptosis. Release induced membrane permeability transition (a change at inner membrane) likely results swelling, consequent rupture outer membrane, and nonspecific contents. An alternative mode may include induction specific membrane. These two mechanisms present distinct molecular targets drug development.
