摘要: Abstract The Mode 1 to 2 transition in Europe has become a key research debate on early hominins. In this paper, the available data are used propose new interpretation of origin Acheulian by analysing through lithic industry at circum-Mediterranean sites with Early-Middle Pleistocene chronology: Vallparadis, Gran Dolina TD6, Barranc de la Boella, and Caune l’Arago ‘P’ levels. Regarding these records, we here hypothesis based an evolution technological behaviours before 0.5 Myr carried out from autochthonous populations industries, combined external adaptive influences. We interpret chronology assemblages within process towards Acheulian, which structural continuity is complemented gradual appearance some foreign innovations (bifacial technology). This envisaged as historical process: outcome cultural resulted contacts exchanges between hominin groups western Eurasia different social adaptations, contact competition each other. would explain time lag Africa, Levant, spread well European expansion across Europe.
