摘要: BACKGROUND This study evaluates the histopathology of lung carcinoma in relation to underground radon exposure. Information on smoking history was obtained by personal interviews, whereas job histories derived original payrolls provided Company. Quantitative estimates occupational exposure based a job-exposure matrix. RESULTS Squamous cell (SqCC) predominant type (43%), followed adenocarcinoma (AC; 26%), small (SCLC; 23%), other types (8%). Nearly all patients smokers. Time since first 42 years average, mean cumulative 506 working level months. Adenocarcinoma appeared be more likely than both SCLC SqCC among low radiation exposure, long time an older age at diagnosis, ex- never-smokers. In current smokers, carcinomas developed much lower The increase relative frequency expense AC increasing pronounced never-smokers seemed masked smokers. CONCLUSION The authors' data suggest that associated but high tended proportion SqCC. Cancer 2000;89:2613–21. © 2000 American Society.
