摘要: While interferons (IFNs) (K, L and Q), a family of cytokines, have the ability to exert growth-inhibitory effect on target cells, molecular mechanism(s) by which IFNs inhibit cell growth remains be identified. Because IFN- inducible 'effector' proteins mediate biological activities IFNs, characterization IFN-inducible is critical identify their functional role in IFN action. One (the 200- family) encoded structurally related murine (Ifi202a, Ifi202b, Ifi203, Ifi204 D3) human (IFI16, MNDA AIM2) genes. The genes share unique repeat 200-amino acids are primarily nuclear. AIM2 gene newly identified that not expressed melanoma line. Here we report estimated 39 kDa protein and, unlike other family, localized cytoplasm. Interestingly, overexpression transfected cells retards proliferation under reduced serum conditions, increases susceptibility death. Moreover, can heterodimerize with p202 vitro. Together, these observations provide support idea may an important mediator z 2000 Federation European Biochemical Societies.
