摘要: In the starfish mitochondrial (mt) genome, codons AGA and AGG (in addition to AGU AGC) have been considered be translated as serine. There is, however, only a single candidate mt tRNA gene responsible for translating these it has GCT anticodon sequence, but guanosine at first position of should base pair with pyrimidines according conventional wobble rule. To solve this enigma, GCUser was purified, sequence determination in combination electrospray liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry revealed that 7-methylguanosine is located anticodon. This case which found position. It suggested methylation N-7 wobbling endows capability forming pairs all four nucleotides, A, U, G, C, expands repertoire codon-anticodon interaction. finding indicates nonuniversal genetic code generated by modification
