摘要: Abstract Background Microsatellite unstable CRC is associated with female gender, large tumours, and poor differentiation. However, there are few reports about the characteristics differences of sporadic microsatellite based on tumour location. Aims Site-specific heterogeneity colorectal cancer (CRC) location was elucidated. Methods We enrolled 164 patients high-frequency instability (MSI-H) from prospective database 2686 consecutive who underwent surgical resection. analysed (MSI) expression mismatch repair (MMR) proteins (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6). Results Among MSI-H CRC, 105 (64.0%) were located in proximal colon 59 (36.0%) distal colon. The predominantly ( p  = 0.014), had a more aggressive differentiation  = 0.001), advanced stage  = 0.035), frequent loss MLH1  = 0.005) compared to CRC. Conclusion There different clinicopathologic MMR protein between These findings suggest that underlying carcinogenic pathway or molecular background differs according location, despite being
