摘要: Abstract Ependymomas, oligodendrogliomas, and low-grade astrocytomas are slow-growing central nervous system (CNS) tumors that occur in both adults children, whereas craniopharyngiomas choroid plexus papillomas predominantly children. We examined karyotypes of 32 these tumors, including ten six ependymomas, 11 astrocytomas, four craniopharyngiomas, one papilloma. Only normal were obtained from 6 oligodendrogliomas. The rest had stemlines; three 45,X,−Y sidelines tumor a sideline monosomy 22. most frequent abnormalities the ependymomas +7 (three tumors), −21 (two −22 del(9)(p22) tumors). Gains chromosome 7 deletions 9p found more often high-grade gliomas. Seven stemlines, two abnormalities, pilocystic astrocytoma +der(15), −Y sideline. all apparently normal. cytogenetics CNS differ higher grade gliomas show little deviation karyotype.
