摘要: Perceptual decision making is an active process where animals move their sense organs to extract task-relevant information. To investigate how the brain translates sensory input into decisions during sensation, we developed a mouse touch task mechanosensory can be precisely measured and that challenges use multiple cues. Male mice were trained localize pole using single whisker report by selecting one of three choices. Using high-speed imaging machine vision, estimated whisker-object mechanical forces at millisecond resolution. Mice solved sensory-motor strategy both strength direction bending informative cues location. We found competing influences immediate choice memory on choice. On correct trials, could predicted from bending, but not previous In contrast, error bending. This study shows animal choices tactile choice-memory signals, provides new well suited for future neural basis perceptual decisions.SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT Due difficulty measuring moving organs, remains poorly understood. The system way forward since it now possible measure due contact behavior. Here train in novel behavioral them rich performed enables estimated. approach rigorous translate action active, making. Our findings provide insight sensory/internal signals interact determine
