摘要: Background. Intraductal mucin-hypersecreting neoplasm of the pancreas (IMHN) is a unique tumor that has tendency to spread intraductally. The clinical outcome IMHN generally far better than pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma. Because presence various atypia within same tumor, it sometimes difficult make an accurate histopathologic diagnosis and, therefore, predict its biologic behavior. It been shown overexpression c-erbB-2 protein in breast cancer with lymph node metastases related poor prognosis. Overexpression reported as infrequent event carcinoma, but little known case IMHN. Methods. expression was immunohistochemically investigated formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues 17 cases IMHN, and 14 carcinoma (8 metastasis), using polyclonal monoclonal c-erB-2(p185) antibodies by avidinbiotin method. Results. Both showed similar immunostaining for product. product observed frequently (13/17), especially moderate- high-grade (12/12), whereas detected only 1 (1/14). Among eight metastases, over-expression metastatic lesions two, one whose primary also overexpressed oncogene product. Conclusions. These observations suggest genetic pathogenesis IMHN.
