摘要: OBJECTIVE: The authors compared the clinicopathologic features of intraductal papillary and mucinous cystic neoplasms pancreas clarified similarities as well differences between these two tumors. In addition, they reviewed 104 cases neoplasm in English literature to provide a global view condition. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA: Controversy about term entity still exist regarding pancreas. Currently, with only few this rare tumor each report, there continues be inadequate knowledge available methods by which distinguish it from neoplasm. METHODS: Multiple demographic parameters were identified 1985 1994 Medical Center, Veterans General Hospital--Taipei. RESULTS: There four adenocarcinomas 10 (8 cystadenocarcinoma 2 cystadenoma). sex, age, size, location, pathologic findings quite different groups. Clinical presentation similar those periampullary most common presentations epigastric pain abdominal mass. All adenocarcinoma showed mucin secretion patulous orifice ampulla Vater filling defects dilated main pancreatic duct endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Accurate preoperative diagnosis was not easy either group. Serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) more useful for both CONCLUSIONS: is unique clinical but variant terms or picture. pathognomonic ERCP should lead diagnosis. Very aggressive surgical procedures attempted mucin-producing low-grade malignancy.
