摘要: Using the 21N polyclonal antibody, we immunohistochemically stained 314 primary breast carcinomas to identify those tumors overexpressing c- erbB -2 oncoprotein and ascertain prognostic significance of this expression on disease-free overall survival. Positive membrane staining was present in 52 (17%) these which 7 (13%) were ductal situ . There no significant relationship between positivity ( a ) age at diagnosis, b menopausal status, c tumor size, d lymph node e estrogen receptor or f whether not patient had disseminated disease outside axillary fields. However, -2-positive significantly associated with poorer grade P = 0.02). Patients who positive for shorter survival 0.002) reduced 0.0001). Overexpression predictive worse prognosis node-positive 0.003) patients presenting II 0.001). Stratifying basis status suggested that c-erbB -2+/estrogen receptor-negative when compared other subgroups < Primary recurrent tissues available from 42 patients. Identical patterns occurred 95% cases, arguing against direct role process dissemination. The high incidence suggests is an early event tumorigenesis. Finally, multivariate analysis indicated independent indicator carcinoma
