摘要: DNA sequence represents a single format onto which broad range of biological phenomena can be projected for high-throughput data collection. Over the past three years, massively parallel sequencing platforms have become widely available, reducing cost by over two orders magnitude, and democratizing field putting capacity major genome center in hands individual investigators. These new technologies are rapidly evolving, near-term challenges include development robust protocols generating libraries, building effective approaches to data-analysis, often rethinking experimental design. Next-generation has potential dramatically accelerate biomedical research, enabling comprehensive analysis genomes, transcriptomes interactomes inexpensive, routine widespread, rather than requiring significant production-scale efforts.
