摘要: The growing burden of the rapidly ageing global population has reinvigorated interest in science and rejuvenation. Among organ systems, rejuvenation central nervous system (CNS) is arguably most complex challenging tasks owing, among other things, to its startling structural functional complexity restricted capacity for repair. Thus, prospect meaningful CNS seemed an impossible goal; however, advances stem cell are beginning challenge this assumption. This Review outlines these with a focus on key endogenous progenitor compartments CNS. Insights gleaned from studies model organisms, chiefly rodents, will be considered parallel human studies.
