摘要: Apnea was elicited by the application of chemical stimuli to laryngeal region 25 piglets from 1 70 days age. Animals were tested under normoxic and hypoxic (Flo2 10%) conditions with water solutions graded acid salt concentration. The chemoreflex found diminish postnatal Fatal apneic episodes confined animals less than 3 weeks Hypoxia consistently augmented reflex, in some cases fatal apnea that had survived similar stimulation conditions. A direct relationship also between strength stimulus respiratory response. increased diminishing NaCl concentration or pH. reflex abolished bilateral section superior nerves. chemo-stimulation circumstance hypoxia may provide further insight into enigma sudden infant death.
