摘要: Abstract Eosinophilic bronchitis is a recently described condition in patients with chronic cough, sputum eosinophilia, normal spirometry and no evidence of bronchial hyperreactivity. The aim the study was to assess causes cough identify prevalence eosinophilic as cause cough. Thirty-six [mean age 45.4±14.3 years (range 16–69 years), M/F: 4/32] an isolated lasting for more than 4 weeks were recruited from outpatient clinic. In all patients, after full history physical examination, blood eosinophil count, cationic protein (ECP), serum total specific IgE levels measured. Spirometry, methacholine provocation test, skin prick tests, ear, nose throat induction esophageal pH testing performed. mean duration 31.3±52.3 months. Sputum eosinophilia greater 3% present 12 (33.3%) they diagnosed bronchitis. Their induced had count 8.3% ECP level 98.5 mg.l −-1 , which higher others ( P =0.003, both). diagnosis remaining postnasal drip syndrome eight, gastroesophageal reflux disease post-infectious two cough-variant asthma one patient. conclusion, important should be considered assessment before regarding them having idiopathic
