摘要: Background. The availability of Ki-67 monoclonal antibody has opened new possibilities for an extensive analysis cell kinetics in human neoplasms. reveals a nuclear antigen that is expressed proliferating but not quiescent cells. Although the reliability immunostaining been evaluated different tumor types, little information reported on bone neoplasms. Methods. Cell proliferation, as determined by expression, was measured immunofluorescence representative cytospins obtained from 205 patients with tumors. In each sample, percentage Ki-67-positive cells quantified at least 500 and labeling index (LI). Results. LI lower benign low grade lesions compared high malignant lesions. A correlation between histologic observed osteosarcoma chondrosarcoma. osteosarcoma, among 43 primary included this study, 30 patients, all treated same regimen chemotherapy limb-salvage surgery, were selected to establish prognostic significance proliferation. higher good response chemotherapy. However, 24-month follow-up, worse prognosis associated proliferative activity, whereas no correspondence found preoperative disease free survival, suggesting biologic aggressiveness levels may be clinically more relevant than responsiveness antineoplastic agents. Conclusions. tumors, level expression correlates malignancy diagnostically prognostically useful. Cancer 1995;75:806-14.
