Serum markers of rheumatoid arthritis in visceral leishmaniasis: Rheumatoid factor and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody

摘要: Rheumatoid factor (RF) has been described in visceral leishmaniasis (VL). However, there is no report of RF-isotype or other rheumatoid arthritis (RA) autoantibody VL. This work investigated RF and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (CCP-Ab) sera from 35 inhabitants a VL area: 15 healthy persons (HIEA); 10 patients (VL), subjects cured (CVL). The controls were represented by individuals (HI) RA free area. IgM-RF was immunoturbidimetry, while IgA-RF CCP-Ab enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Increased RF-IgM production found 9 out both groups (median level 100 182 IU/ml respectively); three CVL-sera (level 94 IU), only one HIEA-serum 58 IU). detected RA-sera (5/10, 50%), four 36.5 U 161.5 respectively).
