摘要: The Episkin epidermal system is a reconstituted organotypic culture of human keratinocytes forming multilayer differentiated epidermis on collagen matrix. This standardized model was used to measure various parameters reflecting irritation observed in vivo following topical application variety surfactants. A comparison the results with historical data from ocular testing showed strong correlation for cytotoxic potential (r = 0.93; n 23; P < 0.00001) and damage epithelial barrier function 0.87; 20; 0.00001). In addition, proportion agents which irritative underestimated low. With regard cutaneous irritation, release major pro-inflammatory cytokine, interleukin 1alpha, correlated degree 0.81; 0.0001). Given its suitability wide fact that all types formulations can be applied reconstructed surface, should particularly useful assessing tolerability vitro.
