Treatment of chronic heart failure with pirbuterol: acute haemodynamic responses.

摘要: Fifty-nine patients with severe chronic heart failure were given pirbuterol, a beta agonist vasodilator and positive inotropic properties. The acute haemodynamic responses to both single (20 patients) incremental doses (39 measured. Pirbuterol increased cardiac index reduced left ventricular filling pressure systemic vascular resistance only small changes in rate blood pressure. Maximal effects observed at an average of 170 minutes after oral dose pirbuterol. In the studies plasma pirbuterol concentration was found increase increasing related magnitude response. well tolerated, no drug-related side recorded. Oral clearly improved pump performance these patients, being consistent vasodilatation as dominant mechanism rather than direct effect.
