摘要: Cortical information is processed in the neostriatum (STR) and then transmitted to output nuclei of basal ganglia, entopeduncular nucleus (EP) substantia nigra pars reticulata (SNr). In mammalian majority neurones are medium-size spiny neurons, sending their axons globus pallidus (GP) or EP/SNr, by either “direct” “indirect” pathways26. The pathway consists a direct projection from while pathways consist striatal GP thence directly via subthalamic (STN). Striatonigral neurons GP, SNr EP GABAergic, whereas those STN use glutamate. Activation thus leads inhibition EP/SNr activation produces opposite effect i.e. disinhibition; imbalance between two thought underlie disorders movement1,6,12,15.
