摘要: Muramyl dipeptide, which does not induce epithelioid granuloma when injected alone dissolved in phosphate-buffered saline, could extensive granulomas guinea pigs chemically conjugated with branched, but linear, fatty acids. Peptidoglycan fragments of Staphylococcus epidermidis evoke incorporated a water-in-oil emulsion. These findings suggest the importance lipid bound to muramyl dipeptide for formation. In view fact that mycobacteria uniquely contain large amounts branched acids, it was proposed complex and mostly mycolic is structure tubercle bacilli responsible
