摘要: AIMS AND BACKGROUND An association between human papilloma virus (HPV) and bladder cancer has been reported. However, the role of HPV in bilharzial its prevalence have not yet clarified. STUDY DESIGN We investigated 50 cases for types 16/18 by situ hybridization. Also, p53 protein expression immunohistochemistry was evaluated 41 cases, with correlation these factors to clinicopathologic parameters tumor relapse after primary treatment. RESULTS detected 46% Egyptian carcinomas (23/50 cases). Positivity 47.8% squamous cell carcinoma 36.4% transitional carcinoma. There a possible viral-bilharzial as 52.8% Bilharzial whereas only 12.5% non-Bilharzial were positive (P <0.05). P53 found 19/41 (46.3%) cases. concordance 58.5% Neither factor related recurrence CONCLUSIONS may thus be implicated etiology cancer, but definite causal relationship remains demonstrated. together alterations work synergy accelerate carcinogenic process, there results both 24/41 (58.5%)
