Application of response surface methodology and genetic algorithm for optimisation of electro-discharge diamond face grinding of tungsten carbide-cobalt composite

摘要: The objective of this paper is to optimise the electrical discharge diamond face grinding (EDDFG) process. experiments were performed on a self developed setup, which attached with vertical column EDM machine. conducted tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co) composite workpiece considering simultaneous effect wheel speed, pulse current, on-time and duty factor material removal rate (MRR) average surface roughness (Ra). according central rotatable design (CCRD) mathematical model predict relation between input-output parameters using response methodology (RSM). RSM coupled non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) process parameters. Finally optimal solution obtained from Pareto front presented compared experimental results.
