摘要: Aims Breastfeeding is acknowledged to be beneficial for child development. Women with diabetes may more likely not breastfeed their children because of neonatal morbidity and instability in control. The aim this study was assess the effect maternal Type 1 on breastfeeding habits. Methods Full any were reported first year life 1560 born Germany between 1989 2004. Results Fewer mothers breastfed than non-diabetic (77 vs. 86%; P < 0.0001) and, amongst children, there shorter duration full (12 17 weeks; (20 26 weeks, compared mothers. Other factors associated reduced frequency pre-term delivery (P < 0.0001), young age firstborn (P < 0.0001). After stratification each these factors, remained significantly less frequent as mothers.
