摘要: Abstract Neonatal tolerance inducibility of self-major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-class II-associated antigens was compared with that allo-class II antigens. BALB/c (H-2d, Mlsb) mice, less than 24 hr after birth, were intravenously injected bone marrow cells either (BALB/c × DBA/2)F1 Mls b a ; semiallogeneic at the locus) or B10.BR)F1 ( H -2 d k , Mlsb; MHC), as The mice tested for in vivo immune activity class II-reactive T by means popliteal lymph node-swelling assay. They developed tolerance, irrespective type antigens, showing profoundly suppressed host-versus-graft reaction, and those tolerized to allo-MHC accepted skin grafts corresponding allogeneic mice. In thymus spleen Mls-tolerant antigen-specific T-cell completely abolished, without apparent involvement suppressor cells. contrast, allo-MHC-tolerant not reduced peripheral lymphoid organs, suggesting systemic hyporesponsiveness is attributable reversible suppression competent resistance cell-level induction may be ascribed active participation prevention escape from both, since an injection both H-2-semiallogeneic (DBA/2 ) could induce Mlsa-H-2d newborn
