摘要: Summary During the past few years, several approaches to spinal-cord repair have been successfully established in animal models. For their use trials of injury (SCI) human beings, specific difficulties that affect success clinical be recognised. First, transection spinal cord is commonly applied models, whereas contusion, which generally leads two three segments, represents typical mechanism beings. Second, quadrupedal organisation locomotion animals and more complex autonomic functions challenge translation behaviour into recovery from SCI people. Third, extensive damage motor neurons roots associated with contusion not addressed current translational studies. This has direct implications for rehabilitation strategies functional outcome. Fourth, there increasing evidence a degradation neuronal function below level lesion chronic complete SCI. The relevance this regeneration-inducing treatment needs investigated. Fifth, prerequisites enable appropriate reconnection regenerating tract fibres postacute stage still established.
