摘要: New techniques are available for diagnosing leishmaniasis, but their efficacy in the identification of pediatric visceral leishmaniasis (VL) has not been compared with that traditional methods. The results obtained suggest antibody detection techniques, antigen (KAtex kit), Leishmania nested PCR (LnPCR) analysis blood could be used diagnosis episode. After treatment, improvement associated negativization Novy-MacNeal-Nicolle culture microscopy marrow aspirate, KAtex test, LnPCR results. Interestingly, aspirate showed sterile cure achieved eight patients, two which suffered within 10 to 20 weeks. All new noninvasive tested high diagnostic sensitivity. However, most sensitive; this test able detect persistence parasites predict potential relapses.
