摘要: While high risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is well established as causative and clinically important for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the oropharynx, its role in non-oropharyngeal head neck SCC much less clearly elucidated. In sinonasal region, particular, although it a relatively uncommon site SCC, many 20 % harbor transcriptionally-active HPV. These tumors almost always have nonkeratinizing morphology may better prognosis. addition, specific variants other rare types, when arising tract, can This article reviews current literature on HPV carcinomas, attempts to more demonstrate what how this relates possible precursor lesions like inverted papilloma, discusses clinical ramifications presence virus.
