摘要: The human papillomavirus (HPV) status of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) is a frequent request for Anatomic Pathology labs. However, prognostic value HPV limited to identification high risk in oropharyngeal SCCs. purpose this study investigate the ordering practices situ hybridization (ISH) tissues at our national reference laboratory. All testing orders low risk, combined HPV–ISH tests requested ARUP Laboratories between January 2010 November 2013 had their results reviewed were grouped by anatomic location tested tissue. H&E slides from sample most recent 123 two pathologists. A total 1,128 ordered during period. Testing was commonly test. positivity rate highest tissues. 49 cases on non-malignant tissue, 11 which non-neoplastic. Unnecessary prevalent Dual HPV, outside oropharynx, non-neoplastic appear be common practices.
