摘要: Described in this unit is the ultrasonic distress vocalization test rat pups. This a reliable method for detecting anxiolytic properties of compounds. In test, vocalizations (30 to 50 kHz) are elicited by separating pups 9 11 days age from their mother and littermates brief period time. The can be performed under two different stress conditions. Pups placed isolation either warm (37°C) or cold (18°C) environment 5 min. total number duration calls emitted during used as an index anxiety. Established compounds, including benzodiazepines, serotonin(1A) receptor agonists, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), consistently reduce cumulative these vocalizations.
