摘要: Mouse hepatitis virus (MHV, strain A-59), a coronavirus, induced acute and subacute demyelinating disease in the central nervous system of weanling C3H mice that were reported to be genetically resistant MHV. Subtle clinical signs developed greater than 90% animals 5-7 days after intracerebral inoculation 25 PFU, foci demyelination detected from 1 4 weeks postinoculation (p.i.) by histopathology immunolabeling with antibody directed against myelin basic protein. Infectious could isolated only during first 10 p.i., but viral antigens persisted cytoplasm oligodendrocytes lesions for up p.i. Serum titers MHV-A59 rose 2 at high levels months. This infection "resistant" normally hepatotropic MHV can serve as highly reproducible model study coronavirus.
