摘要: The aim of the paper is to evaluate anti-asthmatic possessions ethanolic extract Rhizomes Acorus calmus (Linn) by retaining in-vivo and in-vitro screening models in Guinea pigs. In vivo experiment was done inducing bronchus asthma guinea pigs exposing them 0.2 % histamine aerosol produced an ultra-sound nebulizer chamber. sacrifice animals vitro were cervical dislocation carotid bleeding. trachea dissected out transferred a dish containing kerb’s solution (composition (g/l): NaCl (6.5), KCl (0.33), CaCl 2 (0.26), MgSO47H 2O (0.28), NaHCO 3 (2.5), KH 2PO 4 (0.19) glucose 5.0)and cut diagonally between section cartilage continuously aerated maintained at 37 ± 1°C. adjourned allowed stabilize for least 40 minutes. During stabilization, bath full with fresh every 15 As results significant dose-dependent antiasthmatic activity. extracts also inhibited contraction induced histamine, Primary phytochemical revealed presence flavonoids, steroids, saponins, tannins. present study confirmed that Calamus exhibited bronchodilator
