摘要: Context: Swimming requires well-balanced scapular-muscle performance. An additional strength-training program for the shoulders is pursued by swimmers, but whether these muscletraining programs need to be generic or specific endurance strength unknown. Objective: To evaluate isokinetic performance in a population of adolescent swimmers and compare results training designed muscle endurance. Design: Controlled laboratory study. Setting: University human research laboratory. Patients Other Participants: Eighteen swimmers. Intervention(s): Each participant 12-week scapular-training improve either Main Outcome Measure(s): Bilateral peak force, fatigue index, protraction/retraction ratios before after program. Results: Scapular were slightly higher than 1 (dominant side 5 1.08, nondominant 1.25, P .006). Side-to-side differences retraction apparent both (P .03 5.05, respectively). After program, maximal protraction , .05) .01) improved on side. Peak force index not different between groups. The indexes sides .009) Conclusions: We describe characteristics group Both muscle-strength muscle-endurance absolute strength. Neither had positive effect Our may valuable coaches physiotherapists when they are designing exercise
