摘要: The taxonomic status of nine typical and atypicalLactobacillus sake andLactobacillus curvatus strains associated with vacuum-packaged meat spoilage was investigated by DNA-DNA homology compared four alternative identification methods. Phenotype-based methods as well 23S rRNA targeted probes produced ambiguous results in the case atypical strains. hybridization indicated homologies 63–78% between corresponding type strain, whereas values ranged from 38% to 54% for This apparent spectrum relatedness observed ascribed recent phylogenetic divergence two species. Atypical should, therefore, be designated such not assigned particular species based on other than hybridization.
