摘要: To determine whether the patient-clinician relationship has a beneficial effect on either objective or validated subjective healthcare outcomes.; Systematic review and meta-analysis.; Electronic databases EMBASE MEDLINE reference sections of previous reviews.; Included studies were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in adult patients which was systematically manipulated outcomes (e.g., blood pressure) measures pain scores). Studies excluded if encounter routine physical, mental health substance abuse visit; outcome an intermediate such as patient satisfaction adherence to treatment; solely by intervening with patients; duration clinical unequal across conditions.; Thirteen RCTs met eligibility criteria. Observed sizes for individual ranged from d = -.23 .66. Using random-effects model, estimate overall size small (d .11), but statistically significant (p .02).; This systematic meta-analysis suggests that small, outcomes. Given relatively few our criteria, majority these not specifically designed test outcomes, we conclude call more research this important topic.
