摘要: Thymidylate synthase (TS) regulates the production of DNA synthesis precursors and is an important target cancer chemotherapy. A tandem repeat sequence in a TS promoter enhancer region (TSER) was recently identified. Polymorphic variation affected vitro expression levels gene. We evaluated influence ethnicity on TSER genotype. Allele frequency similar Caucasian Southwest Asian subjects. However, homozygous triple subjects were twice as common Chinese (67%) than (38%). This demonstrates significant ethnic gene regulatory element which may have impact pyrimidine homeostasis drug therapy.
