摘要: BACKGROUND. The expression of prostaglandin E receptor 2 (PTGER2) affects the biologic behavior various types malignant tumors. Recently, transactivation both PTGER2 and epidermal growth factor (EGFR) has been reported in some tumors. METHODS. PTGER2 gene possible aberrant methylation were investigated 10 nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) lines, 233 primary tumors, 168 adjacent nonmalignant tissues. They analyzed with reference to an association EGFR mutation 133 clinical adenocarcinomas correlated patient survival. RESULTS. Down-regulation was observed 8 NSCLC lines. Demethylation 5 expression-negative lines restored PTGER2. Aberrant reversely concordant its messenger RNA expression. detected 137 specimens (58%) but only tissues (1%). Both NSCLCs that had predicted a significantly better prognosis than those without (P = .0051 P .0171, respectively). present greater frequency tumors non-EGFR mutated .0095), significance correlation independent after adjusting for sex smoking status .0144). CONCLUSIONS. Aberrant frequently associated presence prognosis. Cancer 2008. © 2008 American Society.
