摘要: Abstract LEED beam profiles and intensities for an argon ion bombarded (100) Pd surface have been studied as a function of annealing to determine the minimum anneal which will remove bombardment damage. The resulting has same structure substrate planes readily chemisorbs CO form Pd(100) 2 × 4−45°-CO structure, with one molecule adsorbed every two atoms in alternating bridged bond arrangement. This bears close relationship that on Ni. In early stages cleaning more extensive resulted formation P2 followed by stable C2 could not be removed heating. However, these structures regenerated following long sequence alternate high temperature heating bombardment, although changes integral order beams still from extended annealing. We attribute contamination diffusion bulk impurity surface. does adsorb contaminated conclude can best relied upon produce clean when subsequent is just sufficient sputtering
