摘要: chief nursing of-ficers (CNOs).Background: It is believed that transformationalleadership practices influence quality and are in-tegral to Magnet designation.Methods: E-mail surveys of 384 CNOs wereconducted in 2011 using the leadership in-ventory (LPI).Results: Enabling others act modeling wayare top CNOs. Those 60 years orolder those with doctorate degrees scored signifi-cantly higher inspiring a shared vision chal-lenging process. There was significant positiverelationship between total as CNO in-spiring scores onthe LPI number beds organization.Conclusions: As gain experience educa-tion, they exhibit more transformational leadershipcharacteristics. organizations should takesteps retain support their develop-ment advancement.Chief officers (CNOs) increasingly chal-lenged effectively lead today’s turbulent health-care environment. The context for leadershippractice includes positioning value-based pur-chasing, meeting regulatory requirements, imple-menting information technology, designing new caredelivery models clinical roles, implementingthe Institute Medicine’s (IOM) Future NursingReport recommendations.
