Magmatism of the submarine Vityaz Ridge (Pacific slope of the Kuril Island Arc)

摘要: Original results of igneous rock studies are presented. The rocks were dredged during a marine expedition (cruise 37 R/V Akademik M.A. Lavrent’ev in August–September, 2005) the region submarine Vityaz Ridge and Kuril Arc outer slope. Several age complexes (Late Cretaceous, Eocene, Late Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene-Pleistocene) recognizable on Ridge. These characterized by number common geochemical features since all them represent formations island arc calc-alkali series. At same time, they also have individual reflecting different geodynamic settings. slope demonstrates volcanism. Pliocene-Pleistocene volcanic here similar to volcanites Kuril-Kamchatka frontal zone.
