摘要: During both regulatory and routine surveillance sampling of baitfish from the states Illinois, Minnesota, Montana, Wisconsin, USA, isolates (n = 20) a previously unknown picornavirus were obtained kidney/spleen or entire viscera fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas) brassy (Hybognathus hankinsoni). Following appearance diffuse cytopathic effect, examination cell culture supernatant by negative contrast electron microscopy revealed presence small, round virus particles (∼30–32 nm), with picornavirus-like morphology. Amplification sequence analysis viral RNA identified agent as novel member Picornaviridae family, tentatively named minnow (FHMPV). The full FHMPV genome consisted 7834 nucleotides. Phylogenetic based on 491 amino acid residues 3D gene showed 98.6% to 100% identity among 20 compared in this study while only 49.5% its nearest neighbor, bluegill (BGPV) isolated (Lepomis macrochirus). Based complete polyprotein analysis, shared 58% (P1), 33% (P2) 43% (P3) identities BGPV less than 40% all other picornaviruses. Hence, we propose creation new genus (Piscevirus) within family. impact health fish populations is at present.
