摘要: Case Description—A 4-year-old domestic shorthair cat was evaluated for a 1-week history of shifting limb lameness that progressed to tetraparesis. Clinical Findings—Physical examination revealed generalized muscle atrophy and signs discomfort when the muscles appendicular skeleton were palpated. Neurologic diminished myotatic withdrawal reflexes in all 4 limbs. Results CBC indicated mild neutrophilia, serum biochemical analysis hyperalbuminemia high creatine kinase activity. The anesthetized, an electromyogram (EMG), CSF sample, nerve biopsy specimens obtained. EMG positive sharp waves fibrillation potentials, albuminocytologic dissociation, histologic severe myositis neuritis. Immune-mediated polymyositis neuritis suspected.
