摘要: Abstract Iatrogenic injury to the spinal cord (SC) is not an uncommon complication of surgery. In attempt establish a preventive therapy for anticipated SC injury, we tested effect single dose (SD) vaccine vs. addition booster (BD) neural-derived peptide (A91) prior contusion. Immunization with A91 immediately after has demonstrated induce significant tissue protection and motor recovery. After only BD vaccination schedule had neuroprotective effect. It was capable improving neurological recovery that always significantly higher than one observed in rats SD immunization or those treated PBS. Toward end study, animals presented BBB score 9.75 ± 0.17 (mean ± standard deviation) while PBS 6.6 ± 0.7 5.6 ± 0.6 respectively. next step attempted corroborate induced by immunization. For this purpose, assessed survival rubrospinal neurons (RSNs) ventral horn (VHNs) sixty days injury. both RSNs VHNs Finally, failure success (SD respectively) associated lower A91-specific T cell proliferation. Prophylactic neuroprotection initial subsequent may improve sustained during invasive surgery procedures.
