摘要: Very limited literature described the use of free anterolateral thigh (ALT) among other flaps for pediatric lower limb reconstruction. The aim this study is to present our experience using ALT flap reconstruction soft tissue defects over dorsum foot and ankle in children. included 42 children aged 2.5–13 years with a mean 6.18 years. Three had crush injuries while rest were victims run car accidents. All vascularized by at least two perforators; 88.23% musculocutaneous 11.77 septocutaneous perforators. raised subfascial plane. Initial thinning was performed five 35% required subsequent debulking. Mean Flap surface area 117.11 cm2. recipient arteries anterior tibial artery 38 cases posterior four cases. Venous anastomosis one vena commitant nine long saphenous vein additionally used. ischemia time 2 hours total operative averaged 6.3 hours. About 41% donor sites closed primarily 59% skin grafting. Primary survival rate 92.8% (39/42 cases). showed venous congestion. After reanastomosis, partial loss lost completely. Post-operative hospital stay 7.5 days. could be as safe, reliable, aesthetically appealing option foot/ankle resurfacing after traumatic loss. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microsurgery, 2013.
