摘要: This study examines the effect of a daily administration melatonin for 45 days at two doses (0.5 and 1.0 mg/kg body wt.) on antioxidant status, lipid peroxidation profile in brain liver rats. Both caused significant decrease levels cholesterol, phospholipids, triglycerides free fatty acids examined tissues. Concomitantly, treatment with augmented activity enzymes superoxide dismutase, catalase glutathione peroxidase as well increased levels. These results offer support to hypothesis that pharmacological amounts effectively reduces oxidative stress acts an antihyperlipidemic agent.
